Casa de la Luz Project
- Building year: 2018
- Works: Apartament Reform
- Location: Old Town Estepona, Málaga
Casa de la Luz is in one of the most traditional streets of the old town of Estepona, it is a house designed as a refuge for the owners. In this type of project, we try to reinterpret traditional architecture with a contemporary vision. We wanted to create something special that you discover as a hidden gem among the vernacular houses.
For this project we had to maintain the original facade, and focused on respecting the historical essence, playing inside with traditional materials and contemporary spaces.
All the floors of the house are connected by a black metal staircase that gives the house character thanks to its slim profiles designed with care and craftsmanship.
The ground floor of the house was designed as an open space that integrated the living room, and the television area with an open kitchen, ending in an Andalusian patio full of Bougainvilleas that provides natural light and fresh air throughout the house.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the second floor, where wood and textures combine in harmony, providing a peaceful environment. In the upper part of the house there is a terrace to enjoy the views of the mountain and the historic center of Estepona.
